Homicide Detective Louisiana (Lou) Armstrong is an African American female working the streets of Memphis with her partner Rusty Carmichael. They've seen all kinds of killers and worked all kinds of cases but this one just might have them stooped.
On a hot summer day the Detectives are called to a scene of a gruesome murder inside the world famous Peabody hotel. Arian Randoff  is found dead, murdered after enjoying an afternoon delight. All the evidence places the husband, Dr. Reginald Randoff, in the room at the time of the murder.
The Detectives presume they have an open and shut case until they go to the hospital to arrest Dr. Randoff for the murder of his wife only to find that he's been in surgery for the past five hours with no less then a hundred witnesses.
Every piece of evidence the Detective finds points to their one suspect, Dr. Randoff. When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable must be true.
The question the Detective must answer is how can one man be in two places at the same time?
